Women Empowerment – Equal rights and equal opportunities

Man and woman are two sides of the same coin of the human race. Man takes birth from a woman in normal childbirth and woman was born of man when God made Eve. This system is interrelating and interdependent. A man can never feel secure and complete without a woman.

The roles that men and women play in society are not biologically determined. They are socially determinable as well as changeable.

What is women empowerment? In my view, women empowerment refers to the increase in political and social strength of women. It often involves the empowered developing confidence in their own capacities.

How then can women be empowered? I believe that one way to empower women is through land rights. In my view land rights offer a key to economically empower women, giving them the confidence they need to tackle gender inequalities. Another way to deploy the empowerment of women is to allocate responsibilities that normally belong to men.

So why empower women? Are they capable of taking responsibility? Well, when women have economic empowerment, it is a way for others to see them as equal members of the society. Through this, they are likely to achieve self-respect and confidence by their contributions to their society.

Simply including women as a part of a community can have sweeping positive effects. Political participation, be it the ability to vote or voice their opinions , or even the most recent ability to run for office with a fair chance of being selected also plays a huge role in women empowerment. A very good example for this is Hilary Clinton, a United States Senator who ran for office against the eventual winner in Barack Obama.

As to whether women are capable of handling the responsibilities, I think they should be given the chance because this ideology of making women inferior to men could be the real cause to a number of problems nowadays. Men are cocky while women are modest and I believe a successful leader has great self-confidence and is modest in victory. Besides I think that if women are responsible for childbirth and childcare, what more do they need to do to prove that they are worthy?

“No real man can live without a woman, like night to day is a woman to her man. She is essential to his purpose and his mission, a good woman is a glory to her man. She never takes the power; she’ll just make him a better man. Every great man has a virtuous woman.” – Warrior King
