They kill animals by passing electric shock

This week was delivered by Dr. Ahamed Fousy. Under contemporary ethical issues, we learned about internet privacy, death penalty, animal rights, same sex marriage and insider trading.

While we were being taught about this, I thought why we should study these topics in Ethics. Later on I realized that we need to know about these issues in order to decide if it’s ethical or not. Another benefit of learning these topics is that we can gain some knowledge about our environment. At first, I had a little knowledge on these issues. After the lecture, I could analyze what are those topic talking about and I was wondering how far it’s increasing rapidly. Even though some ethical issues are totally wrong against to god’s plan but some western culture prefer do it legally. For example, on March 2013, eleven countries such as Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, and Sweden legalized same sex marriage (Wikipedia).

When we look up these ethical issues such as internet privacy, death penalty, animal rights, same sex marriage and insider trading, our mind says that they are wrong. Even if our mind says they are unethical, we don’t follow. For example, we can say internet privacy and animal rights. According to Wikipedia regarding internet privacy, “It involves the right or mandate of personal privacy concerning the storing, providing to third-parties, and displaying of information pertaining to oneself via the Internet”. In order to follow this, we have been doing so many unethical things through the internet privacy. Secondly, animal rights, we knew that they can’t talk or express themselves to us but they have same rights to existence. So we cannot kill them unnecessarily. Sometime before I watched a video about killing the animals for fur in China. Those are cruelty at its worst. They kill animals by passing electric shock and beating in the head. To further the torture they also skin the animals alive. These are some of the worst example for animal rights.
