Reflecting dairy about fast food by Hossain Biplob

The discussion of the last tutorial class was about a visit to a restaurant (KFC, McDonald etc.)I don’t have so many experiences about visiting any luxurious restaurant especially like KFC and McDonald. Last year, before coming in Malaysia I went to Dhaka (Bangladesh) to meet one of my friend. On that time, he was working at a branch of McDonald in Dhaka, as a waiter. When I met with him it was 1 pm and he proposed me to have a lunch at McDonald. It was my first and still last that I had eaten at McDonald.

Before lunch I observed the building, it is white with a red roofing and it has a Golden Arch at the top in the shape of the letter M. There was a long line of cars circling around the building. a colorful play center was there that is gated and attached outside in front of the building with red eating tables made for the children and their families if they wish to play or sit outside and eat their food. As I entered the restaurant, it was a very busy and friendly environment. It was very crowded with customers it seemed like every one decided to take a lunch break. There were three lines of patient and impatient customers waiting to order their food. The environment in the restaurant was very bright on the inside with bright lights and small little dining tables and booths for the customers to sit in. The cleanliness of the restaurant was very impressive and the aroma of the place smelled of fast food. It is well known to all that McDonald is very famous for Fast-foods. Fast-foods are those foods can be prepared or served very quickly. For example, french fries, burgers, and the buns. I also noticed some of the customers chose to take their food with them. The workers were dressed very neatly in their red-collared shirts with name tags and their black hats and black dress pants. The managers were dressed nice as well in their white collared shirts with their name tags, red neck ties, and blue dress pants. They interacted well with the customers behaving in friendly manner as they took the customers’ orders. The workers moved at a fast pace as they were placed in their positions with the customer counters, cooking, cleaning, etc. Some of the customers were complaining because an item was left off of their order not intentionally, but by mistake. The manager politely apologized to the customer and reassured the workers to be careful and pay close attention to the screens as they were conducting.

I saw some other restaurants near the McDonald those were serving traditional foods But the most interesting matter is that there were not so many customers. Nowadays, people are used to eat fast-food because firstly, this kind of food will be served really fast to people will save a great deal of time and you will fill your stomach. Secondly, this food is very tasty. Thirdly, fast food restaurants are usually close to work or home, as their networks usually include many locations and one of them will definitely be nearby. The last one is the price of such food is comparatively low and the majority of people can afford it.

The positive effect of eating fast food is its impact on energy levels. Many people skip breakfast or other meals throughout the day, fast-food can be the source for recovering the meals that people skip. The junk food causes energy levels to spike, which people like. On the other hand, eating fast-food can have a significant impact on one’s health. Though many people enjoy eating junk food and think it tastes great, the health consequences can be serious, and can range from everything to low energy levels to weight gain and illness. Besides these because of globalization worldwide businesses are growing faster. Now we can get anything near to our hand. But in that case globalization affects our cultures and traditions. Now we are not interested to our own traditional foods, cloths etc. as a result, we are going to lose our own tradition and culture.

Eating in an eminent restaurant is very exciting. But we should remind that health is the root of all happiness. So, in order to stay healthy, we have to eat the right kinds of food so that we can feel good about ourselves inside and outside. When a person is healthy, he tends to feel good about himself and his body. Above all, being a responsible person we should not avoid our traditional foods because it prompts us about our own background and culture.
