Being Muslim is such a blessing for me

As a Muslim, we have The Holy book Quran as guidance to us and also a sunnah of our prophet Muhammad S.A.W. In addition, there are 5 pillars of Islam which are the shahadah (creed), daily prayers, almsgiving known as Zakat, fasting during Ramadhan and the pilgrimage to Mecca known as Hajj with a several conditions. They are considered obligatory for all believers or Muslims.

In Islam, we will be rewarded for every deed that we do even it is just a small deed like a dust. The more interesting is that, even if we have a good intention also we will get a reward but we will not get a sin for every bad intention unless we really do it. It can be proved by this hadeeth which is narrated by ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab: “I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, deeds (their correctness and rewards) depend upon intentions, and every person gets but what he has intended”.

During the lecture, Miss Siti Noor also had mentioned about ‘akhlaq’ (ethics) and ‘adab’ in Islam. Akhlaq is the moral philosophy such as behaving in a polite manner with other people, give respect to other people and so forth. On the other hand, Adab is an actual practice of moral philosophy such as eating by using right hand, eat silently which means that we should not speak while eating. Indeed, Muslims need to be careful when it comes to dealing with other people. Unless we receive forgiveness from others, we will be held responsible for wrongdoings towards others. This has to do with our ‘akhlaq’ and values as Muslims. We need to be concerned about this if we want to achieve any success in this life or the Hereafter. I personally feel that being Muslim is such a blessing for me because Islam is really perfect, syumul. Thus, I feel peace and safety because I know that Allah is always with His believer and protect us. Besides, Allah always see us wherever we go and whatever we do. Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us and even small leaf will not fall without his permission.
